ZoneEdit has been running DNS for individuals, builders, and businesses since 2000.
Founded by original co-founders Eric Aronesty and Mike Krebs, Zoneedit peaked at 1 million domains under management and for a time was the authoritative DNS service for the United States government .GOV TLD
In 2005, Zoneedit was acquired by Dotser and the original founders exited.
Our story
Dotster was eventually acquired by Endurance International Group who had decided to sunset Zoneedit and put it into run-down mode. A period of general neglect, frequent outages and overall decline ensued.
easyDNS Enters The Chat
In 2014 easyDNS acquired Zoneedit from EIG in a “carve-out” transaction and made the decision to keep operating the business as a stand-alone brand, but with the same core operating philosophy: reliable DNS, functioning systems, human support, and long-term stewardship.
